About
My name is Manny Taylor, and I was born in Atlanta and raised in stone mountain Ga. I'm a Savannah based self-taught artist, who gained a love for drawing and art through comic books and superheroes. That later evolved into a full-blown fascination and love of painting and arts of all kinds. I gained a love for the language of visual art and all of its capacity to express and encapsulate my human experience.
My art explores themes of creation, mortality, and vitality, alongside rhythm, distortion, and atmosphere. Art is my way of making sense of the world around me, both positive and negative, both known and unknown: What's it like to be alive, to enjoy art, to experience love, to lose it, to create chaos, and to be myself?
As a self-taught artist, I explore different mediums, techniques and styles continuously. I currently primarily work with oil and acrylic to paint in my own version of abstraction and expressionism. I hope my art can make viewers feel more alive, more human, more present, and like we can touch the sky.
